A few items - Tomorrow we have services at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. We will keep these two service times for the next three Sundays if all goes well. Our sanctuary has 42 pews which provides for good space for each family. The first service will be our chief service. Please sign up at the website for the second service if a smaller gathering provides you more comfort or peace of mind. They are both the same service.
Ascension is this Thursday. Service will be held that evening at 6:30PM. Please bring a contribution to a wine and cheese reception following. As this is historically a lesser attended service no need to sign up.
A variety of safety precautions have been implemented as you all know. The janitor is taking special precautions for us, increased care has been shown by pastors, altar guild, ushers, greeters, and acolytes. If you are particularly concerned about something please talk to the Pastors or a member of the council. Use your God given wisdom as you approach the Lord's supper in terms of spacing. Wear masks as you please. If you are more comfortable sitting apart by yourselves, in the balcony or parish hall with the service coming through the speakers please do. If you need to come just as the service is beginning and leave as soon as it ends please do. Anyone not feeling well should of course stay home and also let us know that we might help and support you.
Know that the council has met numerous times about the happenings of the day. We have been in communication with many pastors and parishes in our own district. We are in communication with Notre Dame, Holy Name, and the Vineyard near our parish as other churches are opening up. We have spoken with the Mayor's office, the health department, Denver events, and Law enforcement at District Four particularly Lieutenant Jimmy Martinez. We have been eager to speak with and hear from many, many of you. It is such a strange time please let us know if we are missing something.
Finally tomorrow is confirmation for Amirah, Chloe, Adaley, James, Jonah, Eden, and Magdalena. There will be a light reception in the entryway for them following the 9:00 service. Greet them as you are able or perhaps bring them a card. Hopefully we can recognize them more appropriately at a future picnic or meal.
Love in Christ, Pastor Sherrill
